Jerry T. Jones, CPA, CGEIT, CISA, CISM
Jerry is a Principal with Process Partners and oversees the firm's corporate information technology Governance , Risk and Compliance (IT GRC) services. Jerry Jones has over 15 years in consulting, information technology and accounting, including management experience in both a major public corporation, and an international public accounting firm.
Prior to joining Process Partners, Jerry held the position of Financial Analysis Manager for Wellpoint, the nation's largest health insurer. In this position he led a team of ten Sarbanes-Oxley accounting and information technology personnel in the process of documenting internal controls, developing test plans, coordinating testing and reviewing working papers for SOX sections 302 and 404. With Wellpoint, Jerry was designated Risk Navigator (SOX software) expert and trainer and was awarded the Corporate Honor Award for SOX leadership during 2003 and 2004.
Earlier Jerry served as both Financial Audit Manager and Information Technology Audit Manager for one of the top five international firms and one of the top fifteen regional firms in the country based on the number of SEC registrants serviced.
As an IT Audit Manager, Jerry performed security reviews, ACH/EFT computer reviews, SAS 70's and external bank EDP reviews. He routinely utilized IDEA, ACL and CAATs, to test data integrity, security and accounting transactions when performing technology or financial audit engagements. Jerry was responsible for identifying control objectives, designing test procedures and providing detailed management recommendations for weaknesses identified on engagements. Industry experience includes distribution, high-tech, hospitality, manufacturing, not-for-profit, service and real estate.
Jerry has in-depth IT and financial audit experience in complex electronic environments that include e-commerce, firewalls (rule base and penetration testing), LANs, WANS and other distributed network technologies. Platforms include A/S 400, Novell, mainframes, NT, Sun servers, RS 6000, UNISYS, UNIX, Linux, and various others.
Jerry Jones has both a Masters and Bachelors of Arts in Accounting and Audit from North Carolina State University of the University of North Carolina in Raleigh, North Carolina. Jerry holds the CPA, CISA and CISM certifications.
Jerry is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA).
